Troop 3063 holds an annual Pinewood Derby, starting in 2013.  We are grateful to Pack 557 for hosting us in this endeavor.  It is always a big hit with the girls!  Each grade runs in a heat, with top three finishers in each heat receiving medals.  At the end of the day the top three from each heat run against each other, with the top three overall finishers earning trophies.  Additional trophies may be earned in car-theme categories, determined and announced each year.

Only Troop provided BSA Pinewood kits may be used

Only one car per Scout may be entered

Car width may not exceed 2 3/4 inches

Car length may not exceed 7 inches

Car weight may not exceed 4.4 ounces (the wheels/axles weigh 0.6 ounces; total weight - 5 ounces)

No starting devices or internal propulsion including mechanical, fuel cell, chemical, nuclear, etc.

Axle holes may not be added or altered

Cover the pre-drilled holes prior to painting

No moving parts other than the wheels allowed

The wheels/axles will be provided at check in

No modification to wheels/axles can be made

Only Troop provided dry/powder graphite can be used
