Swimming Event

From the Scoutmaster:

OK, here's the information for the pool on Saturday:

Start time 9:00 at Kildeskovshallen (Adolphsvej 25, 2820 Gentofte, Denmark).  We'll be at the pool until at least 12:00.  That will allow the boys to complete the swimming requirements through the rank of first class, as well as the Swimming merit badge.  It may be difficult to get the lifesaving merit badge in, but we're willing to give it a shot for those who want to go for that one as well..

Please let me know if you will attend.

Thanks,

Jason

Preliminary Intercamp Info

This year's Intercamp will be held in the Czech Republic from 13-16 May.
The committee will be sending out additional information as a handout.
We also have a more detailed page on the Private Site of this Troop Website with much more detailed information.
We'll list interested Scouts and Adult Leaders.

Thanks!

YIS,

Dave VB

Parents' Info Session Monday September 7

Scouts and Parents,

Please plan to join us for our Scout meeting on Monday, September 7. There will be a lot going on at this one. We have invited several new prospective scouts and their parents to learn about Scouting in general and Troop 865 in particular. We'll have a parents session where we will outline what we need in terms of parental support for the year. We'll set up the Troop activities calendar based on the ideas the boys had for activities this year. We will also be working with the new Scouts to complete their joining requirements, issuing uniforms and patches, and doing a couple of fun things like a knot relay (including parents, so brush up on your knots!). It will be a fun evening, and one that will set the tone for the coming year.

Scouts, bring you parents!

See you on Monday!

First Campout 2015

Scouts,
If you haven't pre-paid, ensure you bring 100dkk to cover food expenses with you to the Scoutmaster's house this Saturday morning at 9am.  We will depart from there to Gurredam.
Let's make this a productive - and fun - campout.  For new Scouts, this is a great opportunity to work on initial requirements, learn more about Scouting in the outdoors, etc.  For the more experienced Scouts, of course - Lead, but also consider your advancement requirements and Eagle-required Merit Badges, such as Camping and Cooking.
Other great outdoor activities can include Totin' Chip, Firem'n Chit, Paul Bunyan, Pioneering, Orienteering, etc.

Yours In Scouting.

Dave VB

Schedule of Events

Scouts -

The Patrol Leaders and Senior PL/Assistant PL will take your input on events this year to develop the best Boy-Led program to meet your needs and aspirations within the context of the Boy Scouts.

Check the Welcome page on the Private Site for further information.

If you have a desired activity - Sailing, Canoeing, Shotgun Shooting, Orienteering, Cycling, Rock Climbing, Wilderness Survival, or have advancement requirements - Camping, Cooking, First Aid, Environmental Science, talk to your patrol leaders for consideration to include in this year's events calendar.

It's YOUR Scout Troop.  If you want to do something - say something and then help lead it!

Yours In Scouting,

Dave VB
